We developed a novel and unique approach to quantum sensing that works by increasing the signal-detector coupling and turning existing sensors into quantum sensors upon applying gSpin’s proprietary quantum controls. This contrasts with present day quantum sensors that work at the atomic level and are limited by their detection range which are typically on the micron to millimeter scale.
Our Journey in Quantum Technology
High/ultra-high SNR is the fundamental advantage of 3T-7T (high-end) scanners compared to ≤1.5T or routine clinical systems. The x10-100 higher SNR can be exploited to produce: (1) image quality identical to current 1.5T-3T scanner output in ~1/4 acquisition time; (2) 1.5T-3T images with contrast and/or spatial resolution similar respectively to a conventional 6T-12T scanners, in the same acquisition time; or (3) varying combinations of acquisition time reduction and image quality improvement optimized for each care setting, patient and clinical application. Moreover, this type of SNR advantage serves as a platform technology that can make MRI scanners much more portable, easier to site and very affordable. MRI scanners can be made to target niche applications like MRI Mammography or liver diagnosis to screen for fatty tissues at a point-of-care setting.
gSpin has also developed a non-invasive (no venipuncture, contactless), real-time tabletop blood testing device, with the addition of quantum-enhanced sensing as a key feature, enabling accurate tests that can be conducted on-the-go. It will be painless and provide accurate metabolic state of the patient. Blood testing is a critical health check because blood circulating in our bodies accesses every cell making it an invaluable measure of disease. The elimination of blood draws would result in reduced discomfort, better compliance, and encourage more patients to undergo regular health screening, which would also have the effect of earlier detection and management of health issues across the country. Moreover, real-time analysis would provide immediate results, allowing for quicker diagnosis and treatment decisions, which is crucial in managing acute conditions and preventing complications, and the continuous monitoring of chronic diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and infections would enable timely interventions and adjustments to treatment plans.
